Govee Installation Done Right, Not Just Stuck On
You buy the Govee kit. We install it. City Glow never sells or supplies lights, hardware, or materials.
You Buy Your Govee Kit
Purchase Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights at Costco, Amazon, Best Buy, or Govee.com. Many kits sit in the garage for months waiting to be installed. When you're ready, we take it from there.
- You purchase the lights and any kit extras
- Buy from Costco, Amazon, Best Buy, or Govee.com
- You handle the Govee app, pairing, and Wi-Fi
We Install It the Right Way
Professional, screw-mounted installation built for Ohio weather. We mount your lights, hide the wiring, and leave you with a durable install — not tape stuck to the fascia.
- Screw-mounted clips, never adhesive-only
- Discreet wiring and weather-protected power
- Installation only — we don't supply materials
Install-only, by design. We're here to get your Costco or Amazon Govee lights professionally installed — not to sell you a kit.

Not Sure Which Model You Have — or Which to Buy?
Check the model number on your box or controller (H705, H706, or H707). Send a photo with your quote request and we'll identify it. Shopping for a kit? Use the comparison above, then purchase it yourself — City Glow installs only and does not sell or supply Govee lights. Govee's own product page says: "If you are unable to complete the installation on your own, please consult with a professional."

Our Govee Install Standards
What separates a professional Govee installation from a DIY attempt
Screw-Mounted Clips (No Tape-Only Installs)
Govee itself recommends screws and clips 'particularly where the strips are exposed to wind, moisture, or heat.' We never trust adhesive alone through Ohio winters. Every clip is mechanically fastened at consistent spacing.
Hidden Wiring & Weather-Protected Power
All wiring is routed discreetly along your roofline. Per Govee's requirements, your control box needs a covered, Class A GFCI outlet. Need new outlet work? We can coordinate that too.
What's Included
Professional mounting of the Govee kit you provide, secure clip fastening, and a clean wiring path. We install only — City Glow does not sell or supply lights, hardware, or materials.
What's Not Included: App & Wi-Fi
City Glow does not do Govee app setup, pairing, scenes, or Wi-Fi configuration. After the physical install is complete, you connect the lights in the Govee app and set up scenes on your own.
Ohio-proof installs: A northern Ohio installer (Perm House Lights) puts it best: "We never trust a sticky pad through Ohio winters." Neither do we.

DIY vs. Hiring a Govee Installer
Govee designs their products for DIY installation. Here's when hiring a pro makes sense.
DIY Works Well When...
- Single-story home with easy ladder access
- Simple, straight roofline with few peaks
- Using Lights 2/Elite (no cutting required)
- Installing in mild weather (spring/fall)
- Comfortable working on a ladder for 2-4 hours
Govee's guide says typical DIY install takes 2-4 hours for a standard home.
Hire a Pro When...
- Two-story or higher home (safety + proper equipment)
- Complex roofline with peaks, dormers, or gables
- Using Pro or Prism (cutting and splicing needed)
- Installing in winter (adhesive won't work; screws needed)
- Need electrical work for outlets or circuits
- Want Ohio wind/ice durability (screw-mounted clips)
- Your time is worth more than the install cost
We're honest about this: if you have a single-story ranch with a straight roofline and warm weather, you can probably do it yourself. But for most Cincinnati homes, professional installation saves time and gets the lights screw-mounted for Ohio weather.
